For those of you who know, this will seem like a strange coincidence, one of many pertaining to the subject. I do say MANY! For those of you who don't know, then I hope you enjoy this lovely poem.
A couple of weeks ago I went to the mall. I had to get change for a $20.00 bill, so I decided to stop at the nearest store and get change. The nearest store happened to be a book store. So I thought, "What the hey?" "I'll treat myself to a book and get change at the same time." I searched through the bargain bin and found a book by Stephen King; normally that would have been the end of my search but, I had already read it. I searched again and found a book of love poems. Uhh, here lately I haven't been too keen on love, I just don't need to be reminded about how lofty it feels to be in love. Well, the book was cheaper so I bought it. It lay on the coffee table for about a week before I got around to reading it. Half way through the book I found this and I just about fell out of my chair.
Strawberries
by Edwin Morgan
There were never strawberries
like the ones we had
that sultry afternoon
sitting on the step
of the open french window
facing each other
your knees held in mine
the blue plates in our laps
the strawberries glistening
in the hot sunlight
we dipped them in sugar
looking at each other
not hurrying the feast
for one to come
the empty plates
laid on the stone together
with the two forks crossed
and I bent towards you
sweet in that air
in my arms
abandoned like a child
from your eager mouth
the taste of strawberries
in my memory
lean back again
let me love you
let the sun beat
on our forgetfulness
one hour of all
the heat intense
and summer lightning
on the Kilpatrick hills
let the storm wash the plates.
Now, my friend this is totally true and it is but a drop in the bucket of strange happenings seemingly leading your way. Don't you wish you could write like that? I don't know if you ever tried. :)

I can write like that. I just don't want to.

Well prove it then. Why wouldn't you want to? I might like to read it ;p
**So sayeth Moni** :)
An image of your lover and strawberries. Now, there's the good life. :)
I have several King books on my queue. People have been telling me I have to read the Dark Tower series.
I can't read Stephen King anymore. He is brilliant, but his style wears me out. It's just me I know.
ZS--I read the Dark Tower series. It's awesome, trippingly complicated and intricately woven. But, I prefer his horror and his observance of the human spirit stories (Shawshank Redemption and Hearts in Atlantis) Do read the series though, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Scott--No, Scott it's not just you. He has an intensity to his writing that leaves you feeling as though you've been through the ringer...that's why I love reading his books.
BTW you guys are pretty darn good writers yourselves. ;) Have a great weekend! (hugs)
