I just got back from a week in New York. All I can say is that it was a learning experience. You know the ones that you endure for a time and all the while wonder why you chose to, but when viewed in hindsight's rear view mirror elicits a certain fondness and lesson that you wouldn't trade for the world? Since I was low on funds I took a bus to NY. There's nothing like waiting in Queens for three and a half hours in the cold at closed convenience store that doubled as a bus station. Sitting on the floor of the Port Authority at 3:00 am brought back memories of sleeping on the cold floor of an airport in Yakota, Japan. The thing is that when I experienced the latter I was about 17 years younger. The body can't acclimate as well anymore. ;D
As for the reason for my recent trip...well let's just say I don't know where this thing is going. I suspect it will go the way of all the rest, but heck can't have an experience without the experience. And as Forest Gump would say, "That's all I have to say about that." ;)
Looking for a good movie? Go see We Are Marshall. You won't be disappointed.
~~~~peace out~~~~
Good to see you online Moni. This trip had the makings of an adventure. I'll definitely check the movie out.
Oh thanks Scott. It was an aventure all right, an adventure with a lesson attached to it. Definetly check out the movie I know YOU'LL like it. I fake football and I liked it. Have a great day! ;)
Maybe you will share a little by little, as time goes by, why you made this trip. It sounds intriguing. A stepping stone to something better?
We Are Marshall - I like the tagline "From the ashes we rose". I am doubtful if it'll make it to the Malaysian cinemas. I'll have to try to get the DVD then.
Mary--Howdy! I'm glad you saw the movie. I was impressed by the compassion the rival college (WVU) showed, isn't that you and your hubby's alma mater? I always knew there were some mighty good people in "West-by-God" Vriginia. lol I'll definetly give you a call and we'll chat...(hugs) :)
Blue--I'll be sure and share the reason for my trip. It'll take some time to soak it in and redistribute. You'll enjoy the movie. Although it's main premiss involves American Football, it's truly a story of hope and community. Have a beautiful day! :)
You were in NY and didn't tell me?
Tsk Tsk.
Yes Val, I visited the Bronx (briefly, very briefly) I know that's where you teach. You're an international man of mystery, how was I to contact you...microfiche film in a secret attache' case? ;)
Still it would have been nice to meet such an interesting person such as yourself. :)
Sorry about the omission of your link on my newly organized blog. I posted an apology!
By the way, you might want to change your email settings on your blog. In the past, when I've left a comment here, I get a rejection email saying that your email is invalid. You must have changed it. FYI.
