Easy Reader

I hope everyone had a lovely and peaceful Christmas. My apologies for not wishing you well so, let me take this opportunity to wish you a very happy New Year. There. Done and done.

Time for an extraneous, interesting fact kiddies. Did you know that Morgan Freeman played the "Easy Reader" on the now defunct kid's show "The Electric Company" before hitting the big time? Pretty cool, huh? Had that fact in the back of my mind for a while now, just thought I'd share.

We're heading for another Auld Lang Syne and the t.v. shows are a buzz with the "best and worst of" lists. I was watching the other day and they were going on about the worst mothers. You know? Octomom, Kate what's-her-face, Madonna and Angelina shamelessly, venally racing to see who can adopt the most children. Yeah, they want to give a kid a chance, more like a chance for them to be fresh in the media circus. Since when did being, "the worst" at something; especially as crucial as motherhood, garner a celebrity status?! Pleeeeasssse! I try to be my best at being a mother, but there are plenty of other things I'm the worst at. Look out world, I'm gonna be a star! lol

Let's wrap it up here, shall we? Here's a poem for you. I'm sorry if I've already posted it. Ah, you probably don't remember it anyway. lol

P.C.

Pain speaks beyond your years
The world you created in your mind will keep you safe.
Your world is filled with truth and beauty.
Nothing hurts you there.
I want to ease you into my security somehow,
ease you into my safe season.
You stand raggedly against the rush;
the swirl of insanity.

Yes, I know you're stronger than you seem.
Life has taught you that much.
So shatter the moon before the stars have time to fall.
