Forgive me bloggers for it has been 10 days since my last post. I know all my readers are just waiting with baited breathe to read my witty post....yeah what a crock? lol Let's see what do I have to tell you. Not much really, I got fed up with my job, and resigned, they wouldn't give me any hours. Besides, they are closing in the near future so I would have lost it eventually. Ah well, say a little pray for me.
On my side of the world: My mother and I went to a store today and she decided she would stay in the car while I bought a few things. I was in the store trying to decide which under-carbonated, over-caffeinated, beverage I should avoid when I see my mom out of the corner of my eye hug a lady and say, "you go girl!" It seemed kind of strange for my mother to walk up to a total stranger, give a hug and offer an over used mantra of encouragement. Hey but, stranger things have happened. Later after the woman had left, my mother found her way to the soda aisle.
"Do you know that woman," she asked.
"No I don't, but I hope you do." I replied.
Then she proceeds to tell me how the woman had entered a local songwriting contest to come up with a catchy jingle to promote a good image for a particular neighboring city. I had heard about the competition because they had advertised heavily on the local channel. It was an attempt to give the city a new image, a face lift, make it somewhere somebody would want to call home. Yada, yada...anyway the jingle had to contain the words, "we love this place." My mother was following this songwriter's struggle, because evidentially the city tried to steal the song. They didn't want her singing it, they didn't invite her to any public appearances, yet they still wanted to use it. She had to sue them for rights to her own song.
Not that I'm a good songwriter by any stretch of the imagination, I didn't enter simply because I couldn't in all good conscious write "I/we love this place." That would be a major lie that I couldn't perpetrate. lol
Have a great week. Cheerio, pip-pip, ta, ta, and all that jazz,
Moni :)

I would be pissed if I had to sue for a song that I wrote. What kind of world is it that we can't have credit for our own creative talent? I'm glad she worked it out. Your mom is cute.
Ha! My mom is a pistol.
I hope you find a new job soon.
And...ooooh your mother is lovely ! What a heart-warming gesture.
Take care.
Well thanks Blue I hope I find a job soon too. :)
